What type of test does Curative provide?
Curative provides a few types of tests, but by far the most common test we provide is the COVID-19 Oral PCR test.
What is a PCR test?
PCR tests look for pieces of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in the nose, throat, or other areas in the respiratory tract to determine if the person has an active infection. PCR tests use a machine, called a thermal cycler, an instrument used to amplify RNA samples by the polymerase chain reaction in order to obtain a result from the sample. The Curative PCR test is self-administered orally (though some locations also provide the PCR test via nasal swab or nasopharyngeal).
The PCR test may be called a molecular test, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), RT-PCR, nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), or LAMP test.
When you search for a testing location at curative.com, you should see the following tag, indicating that we provide the PCR test at that location:
Does Curative provide other types of tests?
While most Curative testing locations offer the self-administered PCR test, select testing sites in the state of Florida also provide the Abbott Antigen BinaxNOW Test. This is an Abbott-made test, not a Curative test. Curative is helping to administer these tests at certain locations in Florida. To see which testing locations offer Antigen testing, go to curative.com and search by location. Each testing site with Antigen testing will have the following tag:
Each Antigen testing location provides both the Abbott Antigen BinaxNOW test as well as the Curative PCR test.
